Week 7 Fantasy Pick-Ups

Below are 5 players to target going into Week 7.

Felix Jones (RB, Cowboys)

With Murray suffering a foot injury in Week 6, Jones will be back into the starting role. In Murray’s absence he piled up 92 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, so there seems to be some evidence that Jones still has potential. He’ll be spelled by Phillip Tanner, but for now the starting role goes to Jones.

Vick Ballard (RB, Colts)

With Donald Brown out, Ballard had a chance to step in to the starting role and shine for Indy in Week 6. That didn’t happen, so all of that “super sleeper” talk for last week was out the window. However, Ballard is still the number one RB for the Colts in Brown’s absence. He’ll have a chance to run on a weaker run defense against the Browns in Week 7, so he’s still worth a shot.

LeGarrette Blount (RB, Bucs)

LGB has taken a back seat to rookie, Doug Martin, in 2012.  However, he’s been seeing more touches and put up a solid performance in Week 6. The run defense of New Orleans is poor, so that means any RB for the Bucs has a chance to pile on the numbers. Blount is worth picking up.

Brandon Gibson (WR, Rams)

With Amendola out, Gibson remains the clear number one for St. Louis. In Week 6 he put up 7 catches for 91 yards, and was clearly Bradford’s target of choice. The Rams will face teams with pick scoring potential in the next few weeks, so that means they’ll likely be relying on airing the ball out. Look for Gibson to see a lot of targets.

Josh Freeman (QB, Bucs)

Remember this guy? Freeman has been a mess for some time now, and we’re all waiting to see a resurgence of his 2010 form. While he hasn’t looked particular good in 2012, he had a very solid performance in Week 6. The Bucs will be facing teams in the lower half of the field in terms of pass defense for the next several weeks, so now is Freeman’s time to shine. He’s probably the best option out there for fantasy owners looking for shore up a bye week.
