Week 11 Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em – QBs

Each week The Kommish will be doing top 5 start/sit advice by position.

QB

Carson Palmer (Raiders)

The Raiders face the Saints in Week 11. New Orleans is ranked 32nd versus QBs this season giving up an average of 21.4 fantasy points.

Drew Brees (Saints)

There’s the makins’ of a shootout in Oakland for Week 11. Brees already is a must start, but the fact that he’s facing a Raiders defense that is ranked 28th versus opposing QBs is a boon. Oakland is giving up an average of 18.0 points per week to QBs.

Cam Newton (Panthers)

Despite his woes, Newton is still a solid fantasy QB. In Week 11 he will be facing Tampa Bay who is averaging 17.7 points given up to opposing QBs this season.

Tony Romo (Cowboys)

Romo and the Cowboys are facing a Browns defense that is giving up an average of 17.0 points to opposing QBs. The Dallas quarterback stands to have a big day against Cleveland.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (Bills)

Fitzpatrick has been up and down this season, but he stands to have a solid week against a substandard Dolphins defense. Miami is giving up an average of 16.3 fantasy points to opposing QBs thusfar this season.

QB

Alex Smith (49ers)

Despite the injury situation involving the concussion, Smith is a must sit in Week 11 versus the #1 ranked Chicago Bears. The Bears have been demoralizing opposing QBs, so starting a Niners QB is dangerous regardless of whether it’s Smith or Kaepernick starting in Week 11.

 Joe Flacco (Ravens)

In Week 11 the Ravens will be facing a Pittsburgh defense that is ranked 2nd versus QBs. The Steelers are giving up a meager 11.0 points to opposing QBs. Steer clear of Elite Joe this week.

Jay Cutler (Bears)

There is great potential to see some “Cutler Face” in Week 11 as the Bears will be facing San Francisco. The Niners are ranked 4th in the league against QBs, and only give up 11.4 fantasy points to opposing QBs on average.

Byron Leftwich (Steelers)

You weren’t really going to start him anyway, right? With Big Ben out Leftwich will get the nod for the Steelers, but it’s a bad matchup in Week 11 as they face the Ravens. Baltimore is giving up only 11.8 points to QBs this year.

Brandon Weeden (Browns)

The Browns face the Cowboys’ tough pass defense in Week 11. The ‘Boys are only giving up 11.9 fantasy points to opposing QBs this season, and they stand to cause trouble for the young Cleveland offense.
