Week 13 Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em – RBs

Each week The Kommish will be giving start/sit advice by position. Check back weekly for updates.

QB     |     RB     |     WR     |     TE     |     K     |     DEF

Start ‘Em

Michael Turner (Falcons v. Saints)

While the Atlanta running game hasn’t been particularly strong this season, they face a very favorable matchup in Week 13. The Saints are giving up the second most points to running backs this season, and they are also pretty bad against the pass. There is great potentially for breakaway runs for Turner this week plus garbage yards running down the clock once the Falcons jump out to a big lead.

Arian Foster (Texans @ Titans)

No brainer, huh? Despite the obvious, Foster could blow up this week against Tennessee’s lackluster run defense. The Titans are giving up an average of 20.4 fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. This one could get ugly.

C.J. Spiller (Bills v. Jaguars)

Spiller has been solid this season, and look for another strong performance in Week 13 as the Bills face a Jags defense that is ranked 28th versus the pass. The Jags are giving up an average of 19.8 fantasy points to opposing running backs.

Frank Gore (49ers @ Rams)

Gore should have a solid week this week against the Rams defense. St. Louis is giving up an average of 17.5 fantasy points to running backs, and have tended to struggle against the run all season. Gore had his best performance of the season in his Week 10 meeting with the Rams, so look for more success.

Sit ‘Em

 Chris Johnson (Titans v. Texans)

The Titans will be facing a rough Houston defense in Week 13. The Texans are ranked 3rd in the NFL against the run and are averaging a mere 11.0 fantasy point given up per week to opposing QBs. CJ hasn’t been too consistent in 2012 anyway, so look for him to struggle this week.

Alfred Morris (Redskins v. Giants)

Morris has been a rookie sensation this season along with fellow teammate RGIII. However, this week they will be facing a tough Giants defense that has a just plain mean defensive line. NYG are only giving up an average of 12.6 points per week to RBs. Look for the successful rookie to suffer in Week 13.

Matt Forte / Michael Bush (Bears v. Seahawks)

This game is going to be a dragging defensive struggle for both teams. Forte is questionable with an ankle injury, so Bush could get the start. Regardless, either running back would be facing a 5th ranked run defense that is only allowing 12.9 fantasy points to opposing RBs per week. Might want to steer clear of Chicago backs in Week 13 if you have other options.

Steven Jackson (Rams v. 49ers)

The old tires of Steven Jackson are going to have a rough matchup against San Francisco in Week 13. The 49ers are ranked 1st in the league versus the run and are only giving up an average of 10.2 fantasy points to opposing RBs this season.
