Don’t be fooled by Beanie Wells

beanie_wells01Going into the fantasy football championship week, there are a few fantasy owners out there that might be looking for help. Or, maybe looking for a keeper for next season. Hopefully, being in the championship matchup means your team is rock solid. But, who knows. In fantasy football strange things can happen.

If you’re scouring the waiver wire this week, one Week 15 points tally that might catch your eye will be Arizona Cardinals RB, Beanie Wells. He piled up 24.7 fantasy points in week 15 and he’s still available in 38% of ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues. Don’t be fooled by that point total from Week 15. He did manage to sneak into the endzone 3 times, but he only put up 67 yards on 17 carries. The touchdowns were more a product of Lions failures than any particular prowess on Wells’ part. He still averaged under 4.0 yards per carry, and much of his yardage and scores were in garbage time at the end of the game. In Week 16 the Cardinals face the Bears, so that solidifies the fact that you should steer clear. Chicago is giving up the 3rd fewest points to running backs.

Don’t be fooled by Wells this week. Stick with the guys that got you to the championship if you can.
