LeSean McCoy to return in Week 16

LeSean McCoy, Eagles RB, Week 16It looks like LeSean McCoy has been cleared to play this week after suffering a concussion in Week 11. He could put up some numbers against a Redskins defense that is questionable at times.

McCoy isn’t going to be getting a full workload however. In McCoy’s absence Bryce Brown has stepped in and performed very well, and he will likely remain in a change-of-pace kind of role. They will likely both put up ok fantasy numbers in Week 16, but keep in mind the carries will likely be split relatively evenly.

McCoy has had a disappointing 2012 season that has hurt many fantasy owners. He was drafted at or near the top of many drafts by those high on his strong 2011 performance. However, in 2012 his points per game is nearly 10 points less than last season and he has missed several games with injury. He is only averaging 9.0 fantasy points per game this season. That said, he’s still an explosive back and has break away potential. He’s a decent flex start in Week 16.

For the Brown owners, there is still some hope. His big performances will mean he should still get a decent number of carries, and we’ve seen his big game potential. He has some ball security issues and his last two weeks have been disappointing, but he’s put up two 20+ games in the last 4 weeks. He also could be a flex start, but keep in mind he’ll now be part of a timeshare.
