Punch Drunk Wonderland

Week 13 featured a small shuffle in that ShortBus moved up to the #3 seed with his win and Miracle’s loss. As far as awards, NSFW takes home Big Man o’ The Week while The Iron Price landed Low Joe o’ The Week. TheSteamroller of Week 13 was ShortBus with his 108.6-69.5 win over The Iron Price, and that means TIP was theSunday Sally. We managed a Sneaky Dog in Week 13 as Ocho snuck by the Gravyboat for his second win of the season by a narrow margin.

On a more momentous note, the regular season is over and it’s time for the season awards. NSFW wrecked previous PDW records and finished with a total of 1650.50 points (new PDW record) to seal the deal on Coach of the Year along with The Seedy for being the regular season winner (that’s $55 in bonus money). 3-Ho’ Punchers wins the Baller for scoring the most points in a single week for the season (186.9 in Week 9 and also a new PDW record). RickK’sRevenge wins the Truck Stuck! award for having the largest margin of victory in a weekly matchup by beating up on Ocho in Week 10. Ocho came away huge (or not) with 4 end of season awards….The Tiny Tim for scoring a season league low 50.2 points in Week 10, The Gagger for losing by the largest margin all season when he lost by 99.5 in Week 10, Schmuck of the Year for obvious reasons, and he takes home the new season award…The Jackson. The Jackson goes to the team who has scored the least total points for the season, and we also determined that “winning” The Jackson means you have to bring a bottle of whiskey to the next year’s draft. Way to go, Ocho. Hell of a year.

The 2012 PDW Playoffs have arrived, Drunkards! NSFW locked up the #1 seed and Total Gronk has the #2 seed. They will both have byes for Round 1 of the Playoffs. Enjoy a relaxing week of watching your guys blow up for no fantasy related benefit.

Round 1 is going to feature #3 ShortBus versus #6 3-Ho’ Punchers and #4 I Need A Miracle versus #5 The Apparatus. Good luck in Week 14!

Playoff Placing & The Consolation Ladder
Those who have been with PDW already know this, so it serves as a reminder and a notice for the new Drunkards. We do not officially use the Consolation Ladder to determine 3rd place at the end of the playoffs. Instead, 3rd place goes to the highest scoring team among the losers of Round 2 of the playoffs (Week 15). Obviously, if you are out of the playoffs, you may still pick up players either for future keeper consideration or for the consolation tournament if you feel like fielding teams for fun. That said, keep in mind if you’re too active in the waiver wire you may have your knees broken by managers who are in the playoffs. Waiver at your own risk.

Keepers & Offseason Trades
The trade deadline is passed, so there may be no more trades until the PDW championship week has come and gone. Once the Drunkard Bowl is finished you may feel free to work out offseason trades. We will be keeping UP TO 3 Keepers again next season. Please see the PDW Official Rules on the Keeper Pay Scale. Keep in mind, you will have a $100 salary cap for keepers and auction dollar trades are allowed as long as both parties involved plan on keeping players (it’s the only way to handle moving money around in the current ESPN system).

PDW Official Rules

And, in closing off another regular season I have to share these two videos. First, Aaron’s sweet goodbye to Arian Foster as he won’t be able to keep him in 2013. And second, one last look at Kreebo’s champ video from 2012.
