Start ‘Em

Eli Manning (Giants v. Saints)

The Saints continue to be the last ranked defense in the NFL when it comes to the passing game and points given up to QBs. While Eli and the Giants have been hot and cold, it stands to reason that they should come up big against New Orleans.

Peyton Manning (Broncos @ Raiders)

There are two key factors here. One is that Oakland is giving up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. The other is that Peyton Manning is picking apart defenses. It’s a bad combination all together for the Raiders.

Josh Freeman (Bucs v. Eagles)

The Eagles aren’t very good and they have been particular shoddy versus the pass this season. Freeman and the Bucs have been hot lately. Look for the Bucs to pile on in Week 14.

Brandon Weeden (Browns v. Chiefs)

The Chiefs are near the bottom of the league in terms of defending the pass. They are giving up an average of 18.2 fantasy points to opposing QBs. Weeden has been gaining mojo with his big wideout, Josh Gordon, and the two have hooked up big repeatedly in recent weeks. Weeden is a smart Week 14 start.

Sit ‘Em

Philip Rivers (Chargers @ Steelers)

Rivers has been pretty sad in 2012 and it doesn’t stand to improve in Week 14 as the Chargers face a Steelers pass defense that is ranked #1 in the league. Pittsburgh is giving up a skinny 10.0 points per week to QBs. It could get ugly for Laserface this week.

Christian Ponder (Vikings v. Bears)

There have been rumbles of benching Ponder in Minnesota. Whether those rumors are true or not, the struggling quarterback will have a rough time this week versus the Bears. Chicago has the 2nd best defense in the league when it comes to locking down QB scoring.

Ryan Tannehill (Dolphins @ 49ers)

The rookie has done an admirable job this season for a Dolphins team that is struggling to find an identity. That said, Miami faces San Francisco in Week 14 and that will not bode well. The 49ers are only giving up an average of 11.6 fantasy points to QBs this season.

John Skelton (Cardinals @ Seahawks)

Ken Whisenhunt named Skelton the starter for the Week 14 matchup versus Seattle. It’s going to be a tough row to hoe for the lackluster Arizona offense as they face a Seahawks D that is ranked 4th versus opposing QBs.
