Playoff Sleepers – Wild Card Weekend

Playoffs, Sleepers, Andy DaltonThe playoffs are here and there are still a lot of folks out there still trudging their way through the various fantasy football challenges out there that involve the players in the playoff pool. Looking for that surprise sleeper going into Wild Card Weekend? Look no further. Below are some good sleeper candidates for this week.

Andy Dalton (QB, Bengals)

Dalton and the Bengals had a hard fought month of December and they are coming into the playoffs rolling. On the flip side, Houston has been sliding and their defense is severely depleted by injury. Dalton has been hot and there is a definite chance for Cincinnati to hand an upset to Houston. Definite sleeper potential here.

DuJuan Harris (RB, Packers)

Who is running the ball for the Packers? It’s been iffy in recent weeks. Alex Green has been shaky and sidelined by a concussion. Ryan Grant filled in well while Green was out. In Week 17 DuJuan Harris showed flashes of great potential, and that could translate into something in the playoffs. Going into the playoffs Mike McCarthy has said Green Bay “doesn’t have a starting running back” and that they are “doing everything they can to keep progressing” Harris. While Green is healthy, the Pack could be looking to go with the hot hand and give more carries to Harris. He’s worth the add.

T.Y. Hilton (WR, Colts)

Hilton has emerged as a decent receiver option for Indianapolis, and he has clearly eclipsed Donnie Avery as a more steady performer than depth chart #2, Donnie Avery. In recent week’s he’s had pretty big production. In Week 17 Hilton led the Colts with 4 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. The Ravens pass defense is questionable, so he could be in line for another strong performance.

Golden Tate (WR, Seahawks)

Tate reeled in 3 catches for 105 yards in Week 17. In Wild Card Weekend the surging Seahawks will face the Washington Redskins’ struggling pass defense, and that will likely translate to big plays. Sidney Rice will likely see focused coverage which could lead to additional targets for Tate. He’s definitely a strong option against a suspect defense.
