Week 8 IDP Waiver Wire Targets

Jon BosticWe’re going into Week 8 and the fantasy homestretch for many leagues. You’re probably scrapping for players in many of your all IDP leagues to find fits for the bye weeks, and others may be looking for replacements after key injuries. It’s time to dig in and start building the roster for the run to the fantasy playoffs. Good luck in Week 8.

Jon Bostic (LB, Bears)

I mentioned him last week in the IDP injury fill-ins piece. Bostic is going to wind up being a good addition to your IDP roster. With D.J. Williams out Bostic will be coming into a big role, and he’ll be needed even more as Lance Briggs is also going to be missing time. He’ll likely be calling the shots for the defense. He played well in Week 7 and he stands to continue having good numbers for a middle linebacker.

Colin McCarthy (LB, Titans)

McCarthy is returning from injury and could be a nice addition to your linebacker stable. He came back to shoulder the linebacking responsibilities with Moise Fokou out with injury in Week 7, and had a decent fantasy performance. McCarthy was on the field for all of the defensive snaps, so that definitely means the coaching staff feels like they can begin leaning on him again. It will be worth watching to see if McCarthy can keep a solid spot with Fokou returning, so keep an eye on him and he could be worth an add.

D.J. Swearinger (S, Texans)

Swearinger is replacing injured Danieal Manning and he put up a decent performance in Week 7. He’s going to be getting plenty of tackle opportunities as he’ll be the safety playing in the box when the move someone up.

Captain Munnerlyn (CB, Panthers)

Obviously, cornerback numbers are often erratic, but you have to love Munnerlyn’s Week 7 performance. A fumble recovery, interception, and touchdown definitely show that he’s opportunistic. He’s certainly not going to have these kinds of monster weeks every week, but he’s a reasonable add if you’re looking for help at corner.

Olivier Vernon (DE, Dolphins)

Vernon has been solid in recent weeks as he’s put up 3 sacks in 3 games. He’s been disruptive and only stands to improve with Cameron Wake returning to health. There could be a fairly scary one-two punch for Miami’s pass rush going forward.
