Week 9 IDP Waiver Wire Targets

Pat AngererWe’re moving into the last quarter of most fantasy football regular seasons, so now is the time to prep your team for the championship run. Between injuries and new opportunities, there are a decent number of IDP targets out there on the waiver wire that could help your lineup. Here’s a look at some IDPs to target on the Week 9 waiver wire. Good luck this week!

Jon Bostic (LB, Bears)

I mentioned Bostic last week, but you may not have grabbed him because Chicago was on a bye. You should pick him up this week. With both D.J. Williams and Lance Briggs out, the linebacker landscape is looking different for the Bears. This will be Bostic’s chance to step up and shine. He looked good in preseason and he is the kind of prototypical Chicago middle linebacker type that you like to see.   He’s going to be an every down ‘backer, and he’s worth having on your roster.

James Anderson (LB, Bears)

See above. Anderson will be relied on much more heavily and it’s going to be up to him and Bostic to hold down the defense for much of the rest of the season.  He’s worth an add.

Pat Angerer (LB, Colts)

Angerer has spent much of the last two seasons injured, but it looks like he’s finally returning and that’s good news.  Prior to the Colts’ bye week, Angerer looked solid in Week 7 as he amassed 6 tackles and an interception.  He’s been a tackle machine in the past, so if he’s healthy he could start to produce very decent numbers. Keep an eye on him and pick him up.

David Hawthorne (LB, NO)

Hawthorne hasn’t exactly been lighting it up this season, but he’s come on of late. In Week 8 he had 8 solo tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. He’s also recorded 20 tackles over the last three games which is respectable. He has a decent matchup in Week 9 versus the Jets.

Sio Moore (LB, Raiders)

You’ve seen Moore’s name on this list before. He’s still worth a pick up and he’s still available in many leagues. Moore has been slowly coming into his own in Oakland as a rush linebacker. In Week 8 he put up a solid performance with 6 tackles and 2 sacks. That’s 3 sacks in the last two games. He won’t get to the QB every week, but he’s been heating up lately and is worth an add.

Ropati Pitoitua (DE, Titans)

Pitoitua has been putting up strong performances in recent weeks. Week 8 was a slight down week, but it’s worth noting that he’s put up 4 sacks over the last four weeks.  He doesn’t pile up tons of tackles as a lineman and his value is tied to his ability to get to the QB. That said, he has some good matchups coming up and could be worth an add.

Will Hill (S, Giants)

Hill missed the first four games of the season due to suspension, but in his return he’s been solid.  In four games he’s put up 26 tackles and an interception. He’s a very fast and physical safety and capable of being a playmaker. He stands to get 5+ tackles per week and can be a ball hawk.
