Conference Championship Picks (Against the Spread)

New England Patriots (+5) at Denver Broncos

Denver-Broncos-LogoMy Pick:  Denver Broncos (-5)

New England won in their last meeting, but the circumstances are different this time. When these teams met last the Patriots won by using mismatches created by a somewhat healthy Rob Gronkowski in their line up. They will not be afforded that luxury in this game. While we have no idea what to expect from the Brady/Belichick combo, I don’t think their defense will be able to limit the potent offense of the Broncos and their own offense won’t be able to find enough ways to score. Denver should cover.

San Francisco 49ers (+3.5) at Seattle Seahawks

seattle-seahawks-logoMy Pick:  Seattle Seahawks (-3.5)

This is going to be a hard fought game, but in the end I think Seattle will learn from their Week 14 shortcomings and find their way to a win. While San Francisco won their last meeting and have been strong thus far in the playoffs, I think at the end of the day it will be a story of the stout Seattle defense. It’s worth noting that in their last two meetings in Seattle, the Seahawks have outscored the 49ers 71-16. It’s just too difficult to go into Seattle and get this win.
