Fantasy Deep Sleepers: Week 8

Each week I take a look at potential deep sleepers for the coming week. The players I pick from are those players that are outside of the Top 100 in the Fantasy Pros Consensus Flex Rankings

Terrance West (RB, Cleveland Browns) vs. Oakland Raiders

Terrance West could be a nice deep sleeper in Week 8. He’s buried in a strong backfield for Cleveland, and he hasn’t done much of late to impress. That said, the Browns will be facing a very bad run defense in Oakland and West could very well break off a big play or two even on limited opportunities behind Tate and Crowell. I like his deep sleeper potential this week.

John Brown (WR, Arizona Cardinals) vs. Philadephia Eagles

After a nice start to the 2014 season Brown has been fairly silent in recent weeks. He’s the number 3 receiver and has been in on roughly 50% of the Cardinals offensive snaps, but his production has been hit and miss. It’s what you expect from an undersized number three that makes his plays with his speed. This week Arizona will be facing an Eagles defense that is giving up the 7th most fantasy points to wide receivers. Obviously, Fitzgerald and Floyd will get the most opportunities, but Brown is a very nice sleeper candidate. The little man with the wheels could have some big play potential.

Scott Chandler (TE, Buffalo Bills) at New York Jets

Chandler has been wildly inconsistent this season, but he could serve as a sneaky bye week plugin for Week 8. The Bills are facing a Jets team that is giving up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. The Buffalo offense is haphazard, but Chandler could be a decent deep sleeper with a good matchup this week.
