Fantasy Deep Sleepers: Week 9

Each week I take a look at potential deep sleepers for the coming week. The players I pick from are those players that are outside of the Top 100 in the Fantasy Pros Consensus Flex Rankings

Carlos Hyde (RB, San Francisco 49ers) vs. St. Louis Rams

Hyde is still the number two back for San Francisco, but he’s shown that he can be a playmaker. Coming off the bye week I expect Hyde to get some opportunities against a struggling Rams defense. While the Niners abandoned the run in Week 7 against the Broncos, I expect the run game to be churning in full force against the Rams. Backup RB or not, Hyde could have a very nice game in Week 9 .

Hakeem Nicks (WR, Indianapolis Colts) at New York Giants

Reggie Wayne is likely still going to be out in Week 9. While Donte Moncrief got the targets and saw the big game in Week 8, look for Nicks to get his chance against his former team in Week 9. You can bet he’ll be amped up to performance against the Giants, and he should get his chance with Wayne out. Nicks is a good sleeper pick this week.
