Mr. Wendy’s Look Back at Week 12

Each week @mr_wendy will be taking a look back at the week that was in the NFL. Here’s a look back at Week 12.

1. Two Rookies: Odell Beckham and Robert Woods

WOW! What a week. Twice this past week I jumped out of my chair screaming “OM MY GOD! OH NO! WOW!!!”. Odell Beckham the young stud WR from the Giants delivered the catch of my life time. Robert Woods from the Buffalo Bills didn’t want to be out done and also gave us a catch to talk about for years to come.

2. Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jet’s

How about those Buffalo Bills The players had to be picked up by snowmobiles just to make it to the stadium to catch the bus. Playing in Detroit they used a dink and dunk attack with a fierce running game to just unload on those New York Jets. Does anyone really think the Jets will not clean house this off season?

3. New England’s Running Backs

As I was watching the New England game I saw young Jonas Gray on the sidelines and I could not get the song “Centerfield” by John Fogerty out of my head. Put me in coach! I am willing to bet he bought a few alarm clocks to make sure he never over sleeps again. How about LeGarrette Blount? Cut from Pittsburg and lands back with New England. 30 other teams passed on him. All he did was score 2 TDS, run for 78 yards on 12 carries.

4. LeSean McCoy RB Philadelphia

LeSean McCoy showed up big time this past week as well. Some of us could have used more days like that earlier to make the playoffs. Averaging 6.2 yards per carry he took off for 130 yards.

5. Isaiah Crowell as Cleveland Browns RB

Cleveland has been a team who loves the running back by committee. I grabbed Isaiah Crowell in as many rookie drafts as I could and I am happy about that. He is very explosive and has the ability to be a game changer for the Browns and our fantasy teams. I love him the rest of the season.

6. Josh Gordon’s return to the Cleveland Browns

Welcome back Josh Gordon. 8 catches for 120 yards was a nice performance for all your fantasy owners. Please continue.

7. Arizona’s defensive end Calais Campbell

Was anyone else getting goose bumps watching Arizona’s defensive end Calais Campbell dominate against Seattle? 3 sacks 4 tackles with 2 assists. I’ve been a fan and will ride him into the playoffs.

8. Robert Quinn (DE, St. Louis Rams)

Rober Quinn St. Louis where were you? He is so talented Other then pass deflections he has been shut out on scoring. Facing the Raiders this week I don’t see him getting on track this week. The Raiders give up little to pass rushers. If your in a playoff race it will be hard to sit him but if you have other options I would think long and hard on it.

My week 12 MVP’s

QB Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos) – Big game delivered to those of you who rely on him. 135.4 passer rating and 80% completion percentage to start with. FOUR passing touchdowns! 15 passing 1st downs and 257 yards to help your fantasy teams on that playoff push.

RB C.J.Anderson (Denver Broncos) – Denver really exploded in the air and on the ground. 27 carries for 167 yards and 1 score with 4 catches and 28 yards in receiving. STUD performance.

WR Odell Beckham, Jr. (New York Giants) – What a catch! That one will be talked about and replayed for years. He also put up great stats as well. 10 catches for 146 yards and TWO touchdowns.

TE Delanie Walker (Tennessee Titans) – 155 yards on 5 catches. For those of us in TE premium leagues that was an amazing day but also a big day for anyone who started him.

KR De’Anthony Thomas (Kansas City Chiefs) -He delivered a big kick off return and had a very nice average of 48 yards. Impressive!

PK Cody Parker (Philadelphia Eagles) – 5 FGs and 4 XPs with 1 missed FG.

PN Dustin Colquitt (Kansas City Chiefs) – Landed 4 punts inside the 20.

DT Stephen Paea (Chicago Bears) – Those of us in leagues requiring a DT I recommend this guy. He has been a steady performer. Last week he managed 2 sacks and 4 tackles. Big game for a DT.

DE Calais Campbell (Arizona Cardinals) – 3 sacks at the office for us.

LB Telvin Smith (Jacksonville Jaguars) – Another rookie that is delivering. 10 tackles 2 for a loss 3 assists and 2 fumble recoveries. People expected big things from him and he is defiantly delivering.

CB Janoris Jenkins (St. Louis Rams) – Had an electrifying INT returned for a TD. I’m sure he could have been a game changer last week for a few teams.

S Michael Griffin (Tennessee Titans) – Before suffering a shoulder injury he put up 11 tackles and an assist.

For some this week starts your playoff games and for many more it’s the last week of your regular season. Good luck and enjoy your turkey. Have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the games.
