Week 13 Waiver Wire Targets

We’ve arrived at Thanksgiving week, Week 13 of the NFL season. For many fantasy leagues this is the final week of the regular season or the first week of your playoffs. There are still players out there that could make or break it for you, so here’s a look at players to target on the Week 13 waiver wire. Good luck!

Drew Stanton (QB, Arizona Cardinals)

Stanton didn’t look good in Week 12, but the matchups get more favorable in coming weeks. He has some weapons and potential in Arizona, and he’s available in most leagues. If you’re looking for a backup QB or QB help going into your fantasy playoffs, Stanton could be your guy.

LaGarrette Blount (RB, New England Patriots)

I told you to not trust the New England backfield. So many fantasy owners jumped on Jonas Gray last week, and then LGB came back. Blount looked like he stepped right into his 2013 role for the Patriots in Week 12. It’s still going to be a crap shoot to predict how the big backs will be used by New England, but Blount is worth adding.

Dan Herron (RB, Indianapolis Colts)

Trent Richardson didn’t exactly rise to the occasion in Week 12 and it looks like Herron is going to be used in the Colts offense in a similar fashion to Ahmad Bradshaw prior to injury. There’s a reason they call him “Boom”. In Week 12 he had 12 carries for 65 yards and another 5 receptions for 31 yards. Respectable numbers and the touchdowns will come as long as he’s seeing this kind of usage. That’s a good thing for fantasy owners looking for a sure add. Herron is available in most leagues and is worth adding.

Latavius Murray (RB, Oakland Raiders)

Murray had an abbreviated day due to suffering a concussion, but he certain produced on limited opportunity. He amassed 112 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 4 carries. Murray is quickly showing that he could be the running back of the future for the Raiders. He’s certainly starting to outshine the competition. He’ll be undergoing concussion protocol, so his status is worth monitoring. Murray is definitely worth and addition.

Jarvis Landry (WR, Miami Dolphins)

Landry has been a hot target in recently weeks putting together nice production both on special teams and in the passing game. His targets are increasing and he’s found the end zone in two consecutive weeks. He’s definitely becoming a viable PPR WR option and the matchup for Week 13 is good as the Jets don’t have much to offer in terms of ability to limit receivers.

Jason Avant (WR, Kansas City Chiefs)

Avant has been reunited with Andy Reid, and while he’s not a sexy play he could see some consistency in coming weeks. Avant is familiar with the system and he could become a nice safety valve for Alex Smith. The receiving corps is struggling, so he could quickly rise up the depth chart in coming weeks.

Jordan Cameron (TE, Cleveland Browns)

Cameron was selected as a top 5 tight end in most 2014 drafts, but injury woes have made him a non factor so far this season. Many fantasy owners have cut him loose and for good reason. He’s looking to return to action soon, and might be worth picking up here at the tail end of the season. If he can stay healthy, the matchups will be favorable down the stretch.

Tim Wright (TE, New England Patriots)

Don’t get lulled into paying too much attention to Gronkowski, the Pats have another tight end who can produce. Wright saw 60 offensive snaps in Week 12 and put up 5 catches for 36 yards and two touchdowns. The Patriots’ offense is clicking right now and Tom Brady is finding his weapons. Wright could be a sneaky addition going forward if you need TE help.
