Mr Wendy’s Look Back at Week 14

1. Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning

If you were setting your line up with Manning at the helm you were very confident I’m sure. Mr. reliable. Touchdown passes the last 51 weeks left you with a smirk I’m sure. Well it was not to be. If you survived your game you must have had some stud IDP players. 14 of 20 for 173, 2 interceptions left your team hurting. I was not totally shocked…the Bills defense has been playing well all season. Denver turned to C J Anderson to bring home their victory. Us dynasty league guys who held onto him are looking good these days.

2. Derek Carr’ Oakland Raiders

I’ve warmed up to him these last few weeks. He was the best QB on the field Sunday. My thought is they have their guy. I don’t think you’ll get him cheap but those of us in 16 team leagues…he is someone I would like to have if I’m hurting.  It’s hard to be confident with players on teams that have been awful and heading into an off season with coaching questions I know, but he seems to be a young AB with a bright road ahead.

3. Green Bay and Atlanta

What a fun game to watch. Talk about two teams tossing the ball around. Most people thought they would see some passing stats and they were right. Atlanta really stuck around and refused to accept defeat. That says a lot about their coach Mike Smith “Atlanta”.  As that game ended I thought about how many teams would jump at the opportunity to bring in a coach where the players fight to the finish for him.  One thing is certain, Aron Rogers andMatt Ryan can entertain.

4.  Teddy Bridgewater Minnesota Vikings

Each week his average yards per pass has moved up. This past week against the Jet’s he broke into double digits. 11.4 yards per pass. Teddy threw for over 300 yards. I was a BIG fan of his coming into the season. I believe if Minnesota get’s him another weapon to throw to he could really blossom next season. If your looking at starting him against the lions though I would look at your other options.

5. Brandon Oliver & the San Diego Chargers

Since the return of Ryan Matthews what is his status? A six snap game is where he is at. How quickly he fell out of the news.

6. Jimmy Graham New Orleans Saints.

Where was he hiding? 3 catches for 25 yards on 11 targets! What is going on. Another juicy match up awaits this week. If you relied on him last week I’m sure your not setting a line up this week.

My week 14 MVP’S

QB Matt Ryan’ Atlanta Falcons

375 passing yards, 4 Touchdowns, 116.9 passer rating make him my MVP. Rallying his offense he put up a few points for his fantasy owners.

RB Le’Veon Bell Pittsburgh Steelers

No slowing down for this stud. 26 carries for 185 and 2 touchdowns. Caught 6 balls for another n50 yards and a score.

WR Julio Jones Atlanta Falcons

No matter your scoring system he put up points. 10 receiving first downs, 259 yards, 11 catches and a touchdown. Have mercy for your opponent.

TE Mychal Rivera Oakland Raiders

7 catches on 7 targets for 109 yards and a touchdown. Stepping up Left open often during this game he took advantage. Will he be a top option next week against Kansas City? Yes I believe he will.

KR Tavon Austin St Louis Rams

Big return for a touchdown makes him my top performing return man.

PK Mason Crosby Green Bay Packers

3 FG game but his 53 yard FG puts him at the top of the list.

PN Spencer Lanning Clevland Browns

Any time you have a punter with 5 punts inside the 20 you have a top punter for that week.

DT Ndamukong Suh Detroit Lions

3 QB hits, 3 tackles for a loss, and a sack make a big game for a DT.

DE J J Watt

5 QB hits, 1 pass deflected, 4 tackles for a loss, 4 tackles, and 2 sacks make him my MVP. Is their a better face for IDP out their? What a great person and player.

LB Curtis Lofton New Orleans saints

11 tackle day. 6 assists. 1 tackle for a loss and a big forced fumble.

CB Chris Harris Denver Bronchos

5 tackles and 1 INT. What was spectacular was his sack. Love those corners who can bring it and add those stats.

S Morgan Burnett Green Bay Packers

6 tackles and 2 assists. He had a INT and added a tackle for a loss.

It was a fun week that’s in the books. I watched many close fantasy playoff games last week. The added fun of IDP’s and return yards along with the special teams added really make every player and game fun to watch. Their is no play in a game that’s wasted for us IDP players. On any given play we could get a play from a corner, or a big play on the defense side. Watching your big lead slip away as your opponent is piling up tackles and sacks can be frustrating but rewarding when your on a team that you built up on both sides of the ball. Good luck this week!
