2015 Fantasy IDP: Top 50 Linebackers based on ADP

August is nearly here and the Getting Defensive IDP Mock Data is taking shape. While Average Draft Position does not always give us what we’re looking for, it’s a fairly good measuring stick to see how players are falling in drafts. These mocks do not give us ADP related to offensive players, but they do give us ADP showing how the various defensive players stack up against one another. Today we’re taking a look at the Top 50 Fantasy IDP Linebackers for 2015 and their ADP based on the data.

The Numbers

Each Getting Defensive IDP Mock Draft consists of 20 rounds in a snake draft format conducted by 12 franchises. One of the 12 mocking franchises is an ADP Bot configured to auto-pick based on ADP data gathered thus far in the Getting Defensive IDP Mocks. In the table below you will find Top 50 Linebacker rankings based off of an ADP Value (ADPV) determined by adding draft position from each draft (1.02, 2.11, etc.) and dividing by the number of mocks conducted. If a player was not selected in a mock he is given a value of “21.00″, so the highest possible selection value is 1.01 and the lowest is 21.00. In addition to ADPV you can also find the Highest Draft Position and Lowest Draft Position thus far for each player. (The table is sortable)

Notables not in Top 50

Anthony, Stephone NOS LB (R): Anthony’s ADP Value is decreased since the mock data spans back prior to the 2015 NFL Draft. Since the draft his ADPV has been 6.064. The rookie has some development to do, but he has great potential to be a top rookie IDP.

Greenway, Chad MIN LB: The perennial IDP machine, Greenway, landed just outside of the Top 50. 2014 wasn’t a good season for Greenway as he struggled against both the run and pass. He’ll still be the Vikings’ starting weakside linebacker, but Gerald Hodges will likely supplant him soon. That said, Greenway still has some value.

Weatherspoon, Sean ARI LB: Spoon has been fully cleared for the Cardinals, and they will need solid production from him. That said, his injury history makes it hard to count on him for an entire season. He should find himself starting at ILB and he will have great potential to produce as long as he can stay healthy. He may be outside of the Top 50, but he has solid Top 20 potential when healthy.

Washington, Daryl ARI LB: Washington can’t stay on the right side of the law, and will remain a question mark as long as his monstrous suspension continues. There is little likelihood that he’ll be back in 2015, and the Cardinals are moving on without him. That said, he is a huge talent and can be a playmaker if he finds his way back into the NFL.
