Fantasy Look Back: Week 2 MVPs

Each week John Orr will be taking a look back at the fantasy week that was with a focus on fantasy stars that stood out. Here’s a look at Week 2 fantasy MVPs.

QB – Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Talk about a big play QB. Six pass plays over twenty yards! THREE touchdowns! Threw two 2pt conversions. 17.57 yards per completion. 77.8 completion percentage. Big Ben was ready for the Niners and took home his fantasy owners to some wins.

RB – Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings)

Hauled in two catches for 58 yards. 29 times he was called to run it. Those carries gave him 134 yards. AP was also able to get his team 8 first downs.

WR – Allen Robinson (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Caught 6 of 12 targets for 155 yards and two touchdowns. I am sure we will see him again this year on the MVP list.

TE – Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots)

What a game he had last week. The man is uncoverable. Caught 7 of his 13 targets for 113 yards and a touchdown.

KR – Travis Benjamin (Cleveland Browns)

78 yard punt return for a touchdown. Had 6 punt returns on the day.

K – Stephen Gostkowski (New England Patriots)

Had himself four FG’S and 4 XPs.

P – Johnny Hekker (St. Louis Rams)

Nailed 4 punts inside the 20. Nothing makes a coach happier then pinning a team deep.

DT – Gerald McCoy (Tampa Bay Bucs)

Had a sack and 2 solo tackles with 1 asst.

DE – Chandler Jones (New England Patriots)

What a dominating performance. If you played against him like I did you were shaking your head. Three sack game with 5 solo tackles and his 3 tackles for a loss. BIG GAME!

LB – Ryan Shazier (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Was it a big week for IDP’s or is it just me? 11 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 4 assists, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery along with a sack. Now theirs a stat line that jumps out at you.

CB – Marcus Peters (Kansas City Chiefs)

Second week in a row with an INT. Deflected 3 passes and contributed 5 tackles for his fantasy owner.

S – Tony Jefferson (Arizona Cardinals)

9 tackles and 1 interception and 1 pass defended. Make sure he is not lurking on your waiver wires. His INT was returned for a TD!
Look over your waiver wire and get your lineups ready. Week 3 kicks off soon. Good luck!
