Why DeAndre Hopkins can lead you to fantasy glory

If you didn’t draft DeAndre Hopkins, two things: firstly, shame on you. Secondly, good luck with convincing another fantasy football player to trade him away. At the start of the season, you’d have had fine odds on Hopkins racking up the most receiving yards in the National Football League but the Texans wideout is very much in the mix, despite Houston playing unconvincing quarterback Brian Hoyer for the majority of the campaign.

In fact, most bookmakers – including Betway – would have probably given you exceptional odds on Hopkins being the league’s leading receiver this season. Prior to the opening game of the year, Hopkins wasn’t priced in the top ten of the betting. With hindsight, that’s phenomenal value.

Similarly, he was drafted in the third round of most NFL fantasy drafts and those who drafted him found an incredible bargain. He’s certainly helped to cover the losses of running backs Le’Veon Bell and Jamaal Charles for a number of fantasy players throughout the year. Hopkins is simply unstoppable at times and on current form, he stand a great chance of finishing as the highest scoring receiver on fantasy football.

DeAndre_Hopkins-02Hopkins is making plays on a weekly basis. After eleven weeks of action, he sits alone as the NFL’s leading fantasy wide receiver, scoring nine touchdowns and racking up 1045 receiving yards. On Sunday, he beat Darrelle Revis on a 61-yard touchdown play and made a complete mockery of “Revis Island” on more than one occasion. Simply put, he’s the best wide receiver in the NFL right now and his consistency will take you to the fantasy championship.

Right now, only Antonio Brown and Julio Jones can keep pace with Hopkins. Playing for the Houston Texans, Hopkins receives a large chunk of the targets and regularly produces phenomenal individual performances. This weekend, the Texans face the New Orleans Saints and Hopkins will look to exploit their weak secondary.

For more general news on Hopkins and the Houston Texans, The Betway betting site can keep you updated on Bill O’Brien’s men as well as other NFL news. At the time of writing, they are 5/8 to come out on top and it is likely that fantasy star Hopkins will play a key role throughout the contest. Houston have plenty of talent on both offense and defence but Hopkins is their top scoring threat.

Hopkins is an absolute must have. If one of your playoff rivals has him, make the trade. Chances are you will have to give up a lot to tempt your opponent but he’s worth it. Hopkins has the potential to average 20 points a game in the final stages of the season and will dominate the Houston offense. On the other hand, if you already have him then you are well set for a championship challenge this season…
