Week 2 Waiver Wire Targets

Each week throughout the 2017 season PDW will be posting a list of those players worth targeting on your weekly waiver wire. These lists will be made up from PDW contributors as well as fantasy partner content. Please check back weekly for the hot pickups.

Here’s a look at players to target on the Week 2 waiver wire…

Kerwynn Williams (RB, Arizona Cardinals)

With David Johnson suffering a wrist injury that could lead to as few as a few weeks out or as much as half the season, Williams will be the next man up for the Cardinals. While he and Andre Ellington will be sharing the load, Williams is clearly the back with the best upside.

Tarik Cohen (RB, Chicago Bears)

While Jordan Howard should remain the starter who will see the majority of the rushes in Chicago, Cohen appears to have found a relatively significant role in the offense. In Week 1 he put together 5 carries and 8 catches for a total of 113 yards and a touchdown. Cohen likely won’t pass Howard on the depth chart any time soon, but he’s certainly showing that he could be a very good flex play.

Nelson Agholor (WR, Philadelphia Eagles)

After disappointing and failing to emerge in his first two seasons, Agholor put up a good showing in Week 1 of the 2017 season. While it may not be a sign that he’s truly arriving in terms of what the Eagles have expected from the wideout, it certainly makes him someone to take notice of. 6 receptions on 8 targets and a touchdown is good production. He’s worth grabbing if you need WR help.

Kenny Golladay (WR, Detroit Lions)

Many have been eyeing “Babytron” as a potential rookie sensation throughout preseason and some took the flyer and drafted him. The big rookie showed why the hype exists in Week 1 as he put up 69 yards and 2 touchdowns, and showed that he’s going to be a redzone threat for Detroit. He’s not going to live up to the “Babytron” hype this earlier in his career, and don’t expect multi touchdown days every week. But, he’s definitely worth the add.

Allen Hurns (WR, Jacksonville Jaguars)

All indications are pointing toward Allen Robinson’s knee injury being at least a partial ACL tear. That means he’s likely to miss a significant part, if not all, of the season. Hurns will be the next man up and should get plenty of targets going forward.

IDP Pick-Ups for Week 2

B.J. Goodson (LB, New York Giants)

Goodson was a tackle machine on a struggling New York defense Sunday night. He compiled a monstrous 18 tackles. Granted, Dallas was running heavy and there were plenty of chances for stops. However, Goodson showed that he can pile up tackles if given the opportunity. This performance should put him on the IDP radar going forward.

Ramon Humber (LB, Buffalo Bills)

The Bills weakside linebacker put up a nice performance in terms of tackles in Week 1 as he piled on 13 tackles. He was relatively non-existent in Week 1 rankings, but he should make an appearance now and is worth keeping an eye on as an IDP prospect.
