Playoffs Sit of the Week – Christian Ponder
- Updated: January 3, 2013
We have 8 starting quarterback to choose from going into Wild Card Weekend. It’s not too hard to figure out that the low man out in the group is Minnesota Vikings QB, Christian Ponder. Ponder ranks 22nd among all quarterbacks in total fantasy points for 2012, and he’s roughly 30 points behind the nearest QB in the playoffs this weekend in total points. He’s averaging just 12.0 fantasy points per game coming into a playoff matchup against a Packers defense that is giving up the 12th fewest points to opposing QBs.
Green Bay will be amped up to avenge their Week 17 loss versus the Vikings, so expect the pressure to be on for Ponder and crew. He’s coming off a strong performance against the Pack last week, but don’t expect him to put up another 20+ fantasy point day. Keep in mind that he only scored 9.6 fantasy points against Green Bay in their first meeting.
Ponder is clearly the odd man out in the quarterback pool for Wild Card Weekend. Start any of the other QBs over him.
