Week 16 Sit of the Week – Beanie Wells
- Updated: December 18, 2012
As I mentioned here, you shouldn’t be fooled by Beanie Wells’ Week 15 fantasy numbers. Wells finished with a good fantasy line, but his game stats weren’t that great and his TDs were garbage time gimmes. He still has yet to prove that he’s fully healthy after his injury, and that he can produce in the Cardinals’ weak offense. He’s averaging a depressing 2.5 yards per carry this season, and only 4.0 fantasy points per week. Sounds like a no brainer on that play, right?
To compile the problems for Wells and the Cardinals, they will be facing Chicago in Week 16. The Bears are giving up the 3rd fewest points to running backs, and have only had 3 weeks all season where they’ve given up a total of more than 15 points to all rushers from an opposing team. This is going to be a rough game for Arizona, and there’s definitely no reason to even consider Wells as a starting option going into the fantasy championship week.
