Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em – QB
Each week The Kommish offers up a Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em list of hot and not players based on matchups and general awesomeness potential (or lack thereof).
Phillip Rivers (Chargers at Raiders)
Ole Laserface has been on fire through four weeks this season. Oakland is giving up an average of 18.8 fantasy points to QBs, and many of those QBs have not been men on fire like Rivers. Look for him to have another big week. He’s a must start pretty much every week as long as this hot streak continues.
Terrelle Pryor (Raiders vs. Chargers)
Pryor will return to the field in Week 5 and he has an excellent matchup versus the Chargers. San Diego is giving up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and Pryor’s versatility should cause problems for an ailing defense.
Sam Bradford (Rams vs. Jaguars)
Bradford had a down week in Week 4, but look for him to bounce back against a bad Jacksonville team. The Jags are giving up an average of 20.3 fantasy points to opposing QBs and their offense can’t stay on the field. Bradford should have plenty of chances to shine in Week 5.
Matt Schaub (Texans vs. 49ers)
Schaub has put up respectable numbers so far this season, but the matchup isn’t so hot going into Week 5. The Niners opportunistic defense could pose problems for him and his tendency to throw picks could bite him big this week.
Alex Smith (Chiefs at Titans)
Alex Smith has been a decent option at QB so far in 2013, but in Week 5 he’ll be facing a Tennessee defense that has been fairly stingy when it comes to giving up fantasy points to QBs. They are giving up an average of 11 fantasy points per week, so this could be a down week for Smith.
