Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em – RB

Week 5

Each week The Kommish offers up a Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em list of hot and not players based on matchups and general awesomeness potential (or lack thereof).

QB     |     RB     |     WR     |     TE     |     K     |     D/ST

Start ‘Em

Eddie Lacy (Packers vs. Lions)

This game will likely be a shootout, but that doesn’t mean Lacy won’t see work. He should be back from his time off related to a Week 2 concussion, and the matchup this week should be a good one. The Lions are giving up an average of 21.8 fantasy points to RBs

Maurice Jones-Drew (Jaguars at Rams)

The Jags offense has been horrid and MJD hasn’t done much this season.  That said, they are facing a Rams defense that is giving up the most points to RBs in the league. St. Louis is giving up an average of 23.3 fantasy points to opposing running backs.

Ray Rice (Ravens at Dolphins)

The Baltimore running game hasn’t been so hot this season, and Rice’s injury has limited him of late.  That said, he’s a good start this week against a Miami defense that is giving up an average of 19.5 points to RBs.

Sit ‘Em

C.J. Spiller (Bills at Browns)

The platoon in Buffalo has been frustrating this season because we were led to believe Spiller would be “ran until he pukes”.  The Browns are giving up the 2nd fewest points to opposing running backs, so this isn’t the week to start Spiller or Fred Jackson.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (Bengals vs. Patriots)

The writing is on the wall in Cincy. He may still be listed on the depth chart as the starter, but everyone sees that Giovani Bernard is the new kid in town. The Patriots are giving up the 12 fewest fantasy points to running backs and now is probably a good time to start phasing out the law firm.
